Please take notice that the Town of Sumpter enacted Ordinance 2025-02, on May 12, 2025.  This Ordinance created Chapter 2.08 of the Town of Sumpter Code of Ordinances to impose a room tax on lodging establishments.

The ordinance establishes a six-percent (6%) room tax on lodging establishments to be paid to the Town on a quarterly basis. The ordinance also authorizes the Town to enter into the existing intergovernmental agreement between the Villages of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac and the Town of Prairie du Sac and participant on the Sauk Prairie Room Tax Commission, which decides how to disburse the portion of the room tax collected to promote tourism.
